My cpu heat is still high even after i have replaced a new fan.?
Hi, my CPU was really hot before ( 90-100 Degree Celsius when not doing anything), i was told to buy a new CPU fan and apply some thermal compound on the CPU. My new fan have a speed of 2400 RPM, but after i have done all that, my CPU temp still very high ( 60 C when not doing anything)
What is going on with my computer? Do i need a new CPU ?
How much thermal compound did you apply?
You are only supposed to use a very small amount. It should form a very thin even coating over the CPU. Use too much and you're just going to make it worse.
Remove the heatsink, wipe off any excess thermal compound that is stuck to it then put the heatsink back and see if that helps.
