IBM thinkpad R50e?
I can't turn on my thinkpad. A few months ago, my ac adapter cord started making sparks whenever I hooked it up to my laptop. I have since bought a new one, but now my thinkpad won't let me on. I seems like it's about to start up (all the lights turn on) then goes on sleep mode. I don't even see the windows logo on the screen.
I can only do this when the ac adapter is hooked up, the battery is completely dead. Also when I leave it to charge, the battery light never changes from yellow to green. Is it the ac adapter or something else?
..... if you've been using a computer that's been sparking for a couple of month's, i'd say that the damage has probably already been done... It sound's like you've cooked your'e system... Alway's take some sort of action the minute you notice unusual heat build up... Never wait for spark's or smoke. By then, the horse has probably bolted... It's doubtful you've got much choice now, but to take it to a few technician's to see who will quote the lowest to repair it...
