Is is possible to force a laptop to turn on? Meaning power it up without using the power button.?
I'm having connectivity issues with my Sony Vaio PCG-K12P.
I think the ribbon that connects the board with the speakers and power button to the motherboard could be bad, or one of the ends the ribbon connects to. Either way this is a hardware issue and I need to know if there is some way I can power it on manually. I want to avoid removing the hard drive to get the files off.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I'm sorry, but I think the wisest thing to do is either call a service, or replace that part. The power button needs to be there to turn comp on :-/
