How Can I get the Sound jacks in the front of my computer to work with my new Sound card?
I Just installed a new PCI Sound Card and I noticed that The sound jacks in the front (head phones and microphone) will not work. I understand that they were controlled by another sound card that was wired in along with the motherboard, but I want those jacks to work along with my new sound card. Is that possible or will they only work with the default sound card?
Assuming there is not some proprietary connector you should be able to plug the wires from the sound ports to your new sound card. This is also assuming that your new sound card has pins to plug in external audio ports. Look at the documentation that came with your card or search for it on the manufacturer's website to find out.
